Your first visit, sorted
Comprehensive dental examination, scale and clean, polish and fluoride treatment — plus two X-rays included.

What happens at your first visit
About forty-five minutes. Nothing is done to your teeth that you haven't agreed to.
- We talk firstWhat's bothering you, if anything. How long it's been. Whether you're nervous. Whether there's anything you'd rather we knew before we start.
- We examineTeeth, gums, bite and soft tissues. X-rays if it's been a while, so we can see between and beneath the teeth. Digital scanning — no impression trays.
- We tell you what we foundPlainly, and on screen so you can see it yourself. If something needs doing, we explain what, why, and what happens if you leave it.
- You hear the cost up frontBefore anything begins. Take it home. There's no pressure and no follow-up call.
- Usually, a cleanIf there's time and you're comfortable, we'll scale, polish and fluoride on the same visit.
What to bring
Your health fund card
We have HICAPS on site, so you claim on the spot and only pay the gap. Bring the card and we'll handle the rest.
A list of medications
Anything you take regularly, including blood thinners, bisphosphonates and blood pressure medication. It matters more than people expect.
Medicare card, for children
If your child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, we bulk-bill. Bring the Medicare card and we'll check eligibility for you.
Any previous X-rays
Only if you have them handy. If not, don't worry — we'll take our own.
Your DVA card, if you have one
We treat Australian veterans with full cover.
Nothing else
No referral. No paperwork to print. Just turn up.
What it costs
We'll tell you before we start. Always.
Claim on the spot
Most extras policies cover part or all of a check-up, clean, X-rays and fluoride. You claim on the spot through HICAPS, so there's nothing to send off afterwards.
We accept all health funds and are a CBHS preferred provider.

We examine you first, then tell you what things cost before anything begins. For larger treatment plans, you'll have it all in writing.
Payment plans are available through SuperCare if you need to spread the cost.

Not as a confession — as information. We'll go slower, explain more, and stop whenever you need us to.

Raise your hand and we stop. That's not a nice thing we say; it's how it actually works.
The first visit is just looking
You don't have to agree to anything. Come in, let us have a look, take the quote home, and decide later. A lot of people do exactly that.
Common questions
Do I need a referral?
No. Just call or book online.
I'm embarrassed about the state of my teeth.
We've seen it, and worse, and we didn't judge that person either. The people who avoid the dentist longest are usually the ones who most dread being told off — which is exactly why we don't do it.
How long will the first appointment take?
Around forty-five minutes. Longer if there's a lot going on, and we'll tell you if we think you'll need a second visit.
Can I bring my children to the same appointment?
Yes. There's a kids' area with movies, and we're happy to see the whole family in one trip. Children eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule are bulk-billed.
What if I'm in pain and can't wait for an appointment?
