The thing patients write about most often isn't the equipment or the waiting room. It's that nobody tries to sell them anything.
If a tooth can be saved, we'll tell you that before we mention an implant. If nothing needs doing, we'll say so and send you home. It's a slower way to run a practice, and it's the reason people have stayed with us for decades.

Meet Dr Mark Mann
Principal dentist, and the reason most people come here.
"If you don't need it, I'm not going to sell it to you. That's the whole business."
Mark's mother, father and uncle were all dentists. He knew early that he would join them, and he has never done anything else. He has practised in Maroubra for over thirty years.
What he enjoys most is the moment someone who has been embarrassed about their teeth for years finally smiles properly again. He has seen it hundreds of times and it hasn't got old.
The practice
On Boyce Road, a short walk from Maroubra Junction.
Digital scanning
We use an intraoral scanner rather than impression trays. No gagging, no wait, and you can see your own teeth on screen while we explain what we're looking at.
A kids' area with movies
Children who enjoy the dentist at six are adults who still go at forty. It's the cheapest preventive dentistry there is.
Saturday appointments
Saturday mornings by appointment. Because taking a day off work to get a filling is a barrier, and barriers mean people don't come.
Same-day emergencies
We keep slots free every day. Call before 11am and we'll do everything we can to see you that day.
All health funds
HICAPS on site, so you claim on the spot and only pay the gap. We're a CBHS preferred provider and treat Australian veterans with full cover.

A lot of people walk in having avoided the dentist for years. You're in good company, and nobody here is going to lecture you.

Are you taking new patients?
Yes, always. You don't need a referral, and you don't need to have been here before.
I haven't been to a dentist in years. Will you lecture me?
No. A lot of our new patients say exactly this, and the fear of being told off is the reason many of them put it off even longer. We look, we tell you what we find, we tell you what it costs, and you decide what happens next.
Do you accept my health fund?
We accept all health funds and have HICAPS on site, so you claim instantly and only pay the gap. We're a CBHS preferred provider and treat Australian veterans with full cover. Payment plans are available through SuperCare.

Shop 3, 112–114 Boyce Road, Maroubra NSW 2035. There's street parking on Boyce Road, and the Maroubra Junction shopping centre car park is a short walk away.
